Tailoring is a very useful proffesion to caster classes such as warlocks, priests, and mages. It can also craft bags which everyone needs and can be paired with enchanting for a very nice combination. Becoming a tailor can make you quite a bit of money especially on the newer servers where everyone wants bags.

The reason tailoring is great with enchanting is that you can craft a bunch of green/blue items to gain tailoring then dischant them all to gain shards and skill in enchanting. Together you can make quite a bit of money of the tailoring and enchants you can use.

Special BoP Items

Tailoring also has some very nice class specific BoP robes that you can make at a high skill level. These robes can be extremely useful and even better then some of the instance gear you can find. Also some of the rarer patterns have bonuses such as +spell crit that mages love and can be better then even some raiding gear.

Mooncloth

Mooncloth is a hard to get cloth material that is used to make some of the best bags and armor. Mooncloth can be made my transmuting Fel Cloth in a moonwell into Mooncloth. You can do this every 4 days creating one piece of Mooncloth.

Rare Patterns

there are some very rare patterns that can make very nice tailoring items. One of these is the Bottomless Bag Pattern. This is a 18 slot bag the recipe drops off of Azuregos.

Other recipes are gained by gaining reputation with the Timbermaw or the Argent Dawn. Also tailors can make Soul-Shard bags and Reagent Bags, such as Satchel of Cenariu , or Core Felcloth Bag.
