Halazzi, the lynx avatar, a damage intensive boss fight with around 600,000 health and a lot of tough tricks to get through.
Abilities
Lynx Form
Saber Lash
An immensely damaging attack that can hit for up to and beyond 16,000 damage, this damage is split by having two tanks stand on-top of one-another, much like another earlier fight against Nalorakk, just harder.
Frenzy
An enrage light buff that improves Halazzi’s damage by quite a bit as his attack speed increases by 150%, it’s imperative that you heal spam the tank throughout this fight to prevent him from dropping in a moment or two.
Troll Form
This form is entered after every 25% spent in lynx form, so switching forms at 75%, 50%, and 25%. Troll form is thankfully easier to deal with purely damage spiking wise, though it has some tricks of its own.
Corrupted Lightning Totem
A chain lightning totem that fires at anyone nearby and starts at around 4500 nature damage, after that the attack leaps from player to player as long as more are within range. Each totem has a few thousand health and multiple can be present at a time.
Transfigure
Every time Halazzi shifts forms he uses this AoE attack spell that hits everyone for around 4500-5000 nature damage.
Flame Shock
A randomly targeted fire attack spell, this hits for around 3500 damage initially before leaving a debuff that deals 2500 damage every two seconds for a total of 18 seconds. This is a magic debuff and therefore dispellable.
Earth Shock
A randomly targeted attack spell, much like the flame shock, this will hit for 4500 nature damage and interrupts spell casting.
Spirit of the Lynx
This is summoned everytime Halazzi enters troll form, the spirit has somewhere around 200,000 health and can hit for somewhere around 1000 damage.
Lynx Flurry
Decreases damage by 50% and increases attack speed by 75%
Shred Armor
Reduces armor by 1000 for around 8 seconds.
Fight
Halazzi will start the fight within his Lynx form, during the first three lynx phases the main worry will be keeping your two tanks healed up. Saber Lash hits amazingly hard and can be used quite often, so healing will be intensive throughout these phases.
Should you have a druid tank then using them for this fight could be recommended, as the higher armor mitigation will help immensely for Halazzi’s damage spiking. Whilst in Lynx form Halazzi will use his enrage like buff that greatly boosts his attack speed, be prepared for this via trinkets, cooldowns, and so on or else you’ll drop easily.
Basically, keep your tanks topped off well enough and you shouldn’t have much to worry about until you hit the 25% shift mark.
At 75%, 50%, and 25%, Halazzi shifts forms.
Once you’ve done 25% of his health in Lynx form Halazzi will shift into troll form, unleashing the lynx spirit, and deal quite a bit of full raid damage with his AoE nova attack spell. This is done every 25%.
The main concern once he splits is getting a tank on the lynx ghost, your secondary tank will have to be on the spot with this add as well as DPS shifting to match it. The troll form/lynx spirit phases won’t end until the spirit is brought down to 10% or so health.
DPS will be focusing on two targets during these phases, Corrupted lightning totems and the lynx spirit. The spirit is summoned directly before Halazzi at the start of the phase and the totems are dropped very 15 seconds or so.
Totems should be priority number one as they can deal massive damage when left alone, as soon as one drops have everyone burn it down immediately before returning to the spirit. Even if you leave the totem up, Halazzi will continue dropping them throughout this phase and should they stack up your going to endure intensive healing requirements.
Healers will have a rather hard time with Halazzi, it’s a DPS focused phase on burning down totems before returning to killing the spirit, if your DPS isn’t fast enough then the phase will begin to drag and take out almost all healer mana before it ends.
Splash damage is common as at the beginning of every split phase everyone takes 5000 or so damage from transfigure, throughout the fight people will get smashed with chain lightning, and randomly targeted shocks can drop players as well.
Spike damage is another ever present concern as lynx form Halazzi can really bring the pain, especially when enraged, therefore healers should always be topping off tanks as leaving any room for error will almost always result in a damage spike death.
Finally, once Halazzi returns to Lynx form for the final 25% of the fight he’ll now start dropping corrupted lightning totems whilst in Lynx form. This should be treated much the same as within the lynx spirit phases, drop the totem before returning DPS to the boss.
This is a mana intensive fight, a lot of work will be placed on the healers and they have to be capable of taking the drain or else you’ll inevitably wear down and wipe.
